Hemp oil is a concentrate that is derived from the hemp plant. Hemp oil can be extracted from the seeds (hemp seed oil) or from different parts of the plant, including the stalk, bud, and flowers (full-spectrum hemp oil).

Hemp extract is pressed from the leaves, flowers, stems, and stalks of the hemp plant and contains cannabinoids, such as Cannabidiol (CBD) and other helpful compounds. Hemp seed oil, on the other hand, is pressed only from the seeds of the plant. Hemp seed oil has been on the market for decades as a food and dietary supplement and is sometimes used in beauty and personal care products. Hemp seed oil does not have the same properties and benefits as hemp extract oil. 

Root 66 uses hemp extract oil, not hemp seed oil in our products.

Hemp, like many plants, can absorb the toxins and impurities in the air and soil in which it is grown. Some hemp extracts on the market come from other countries and may contain heavy metals and other chemical contaminants. The ingredients we use for all of our hemp extract products are derived from select, organic hemp plants cultivated in the USA which allows us to maintain the highest standards of quality and purity.

“Full-spectrum” means that the full range of compounds have been maintained within that product or plant. Another term used to explain this is “whole plant medicine,” where the entire plant is used to provide a wide range of therapeutic benefits. This allows the different compounds in the hemp plant, including CBD, to work together to create the positive effects that are commonly associated with hemp extract products.

The full-spectrum hemp extract we offer at Root 66 builds off the previous definition of full-spectrum. All of our hemp extract products are made using full-spectrum hemp extract oil, so they still contain all of the compounds that work together to deliver the potential health and wellness benefits. When full-spectrum hemp extract oil is used it gives us something known as the “entourage effect.”

The entourage effect is a term used to explain the synergy between the different cannabinoid compounds, such as CBD, present in full-spectrum hemp extract oil. As a result, the therapeutic effects and potential are maximized.

Yes, according to the World Health Organization and the World Anti Doping Agency hemp derived cannabidiol (CBD) extract products are safe to use. While our full-spectrum hemp products have not been evaluated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), different studies done by the Mayo Clinic and other reputable organizations have not found any side effects to date associated with the use of full-spectrum hemp extract. On top of that, more and more studies have been done showing the different therapeutic benefits of full-spectrum hemp extracts, ranging from reducing stress and anxiety to helping with pain, inflammation and more.

Since full-spectrum hemp extract products are used for different therapeutic benefits, there might be interactions with certain pain medications, anti-anxiety medications, and steroids. If you want to start supplementing your current medications with full-spectrum hemp extract products, be sure you consult with your health care provider to see if hemp extract may be useful and adjust your current medications as needed.

The body has a naturally-occuring endocannabinoid system (ECS) that is responsible for regulating different functions in the body, including the nervous, cardiovascular, and immune systems.

On the other hand, phytocannabinoids are the compounds that are found in hemp plants that can influence the body’s ECS. If your body is out of equilibrium — meaning that the ECS system is unable to regulate pain and other functions — introducing phytocannabinoids into your system may help boost the systems where you’re having trouble. For example, if you are experiencing inflammation or pain in a certain area of your body, the phytocannabinoids may help your ECS reduce the effects of that pain or inflamed area.

No, the calming effect that hemp products have is different from the “high” feelings associated with other plants in the hemp family. This means that hemp extract oil cannot get you intoxicated or high; it is a non-hallucinogenic plant.

Currently, our Root 66 formulas contain 250-1000 mg of full-spectrum hemp extract in our 30 or 60 milliliter bottles. Each product is clearly marked with the daily dosing amount of hemp extract.
